Management

Dear Valued Customers:

As it marks its 21st year in the business of Records Management, Lane Archive Technologies (LAT) is pleased to advise you that we are moving our Hard Copy Archiving business to a bigger and better facility in the City of Pasig. After many years of leasing warehouse modules, we have now gone ahead and purchased our own facility, another first in the Philippines for our kind of business.

Located in the heart of Metro Manila on Lane Avenue, Mercedes Executive Village, Bgy San Miguel, with a total land area of approximately 18,000 square meters, this new facility offers more space for your records now and into the future, and will be equipped with our existing and new security systems.

The move, which has two phases, will comprise the relocation of all our cartons currently stored in Taguig into our new 10,000 square meter warehouse facility. Currently ongoing is Phase one and this entails rehabilitation and enhancement work on the warehouse itself and the perimeter areas. This is expected to be completed during the last quarter of the year. The second phase will be the installation of the necessary infrastructure, and this work will continue over the next several months, as we methodically transfer all the cartons from Taguig. We expect to re-locate some operational and administrative functions to the new facility, over the succeeding months.

To help you track this move, we have created this site webview.lat-philippines.com:8080/pasig which will be updated on a daily basis. Using your unique account number, you will be able to track the exact movement of your cartons by their unique barcode numbers, as they are transferred to our new facility. Our normal services will continue as usual and we don't envisage any service interruptions, as a result of this move. For security reasons, the logistics of the move will be monitored and supervised by our own professional staff. Shortly we will be inviting you for a site visit and soon on our web-site you will find a short animated video presentation, which outlines all the major security features of our new Record Center.

Allow us to sincerely thank you for the business we have shared in the past and we look forward to many more years of this fruitful partnership, as we move to our new, larger, and better home, thanks to the trust you and many other top Corporations have placed in us.

Sincerely

The Management

Interesting Facts
Did you know that...

Stored Records Should Be Destroyed On a Regular Schedule.

The period of time that business records are stored should be determined by a retention schedule that takes into consideration their useful value to the business and the governing legal requirements. No record should be kept longer than this retention period. By not adhering to a program of routinely destroying stored records, a company exhibits suspicious disposal practices that could be negatively construed in the event of litigation or audit. By destroying records according to a set schedule, a company appropriately limits the amount of materials it must search through to comply with legal and audit requests.

From a risk management perspective, the only acceptable method of discarding stored records is to destroy them by a method that ensures that the information is obliterated. Documenting the exact date that a record is destroyed is a prudent and recommended legal precaution.

LAT Goes to the Beach!

Despite forecasts of continuous rain showers throughout the entire weekend, LANE ARCHIVE went ahead and braved the 'storm' on the way to Blue Coral Laiya, Batangas for its annual company outing last May 17, 2008. Thankfully, the heavens cooperated and gave way to a beautiful sunny & rain-free day (thanks to the egg offering made to the nuns at Sta. Clara!).

Assembling in Taguig as early as 4:00am, over 100 employees reached the site at 9:00 am all excited to experience once again the sand and the sea of Laiya . This being our third year to be in Batangas, once past the tight security, each group already knew where to go and how to enjoy the different areas of the site.

And, as in any Filipino gathering, the fun in fellowship is spelled sumptuous food and karaoke!

Lunch of grilled pork and fish, sinigang, chicken pastel, chopsuey was served buffet style with - how can we forget - lechon! Buko pandan and an abundance of fresh fruits capped the meal. The queue at the buffet table was so long, about an hour - proof of our guys' insatiable appetites. No time to get bored while in line though, as the others entertained the group with their singing using the good old Karaoke machine.

After a brief rest, the games prepared by the organizing committee started the ball rolling in the afternoon. Relays and a beer drinking contest got everyone's attention as teams blue, red, white and green tried to outdo each other. Stories were shared about everyone's different experiences in certain games. Opinions were exchanged as to which one got their adrenaline flowing. In the end, Team White emerged as overall winner.

At around 4:00 pm, everyone headed back to their respective buses, not only leaving behind them a day filled with relaxation, fun, bonding, recreation and beach tripping, but also bringing home a lot of fun-filled memories, with friends, to look back on (not to mention sunburn, and empty cameras).
